Embedded Excel automatic re-sizing

Working with an embedded Excel spreadsheet.
When I open the sheet from PowerPoint to edit, it automatically re-sizes and
does not include everything I need visible. I use the sizing handles to
re-establish my viewable area; but when I click out to of the source
application, my area is again re-sized.

Not sure how to fix this problem...

To clarify:
- after using sizing handles to re-establish view parameters, I click out of
the source application
- the spreadsheet automatically re-sizes and my viewable area is smaller
