Emails won't send - error message

My emails won't send. I downloaded the one fix and did the workaround and
nothing has worked. I am using windstream for internet access and am on a
laptop with wireless internet if that matters.

here is the error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Fw: It's a BOY! And
pre-planning', Account: 'pop.windstream.net', Server: 'smtp.windstream.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number:
0x800CCC0E

Can anyone help with this?

When you get that error message, is your laptop obtaining its Internet
connection from Windstream, or are you away from home, using some
random Wi-Fi hotspot?

Which antivirus are you running?

Using Symantec(Norton) or MacAfee product by any chance??

Disable your Antivirus email scanning for incoming or outgoing emails. Better still uninstall the Antivirus and then re-install without the email integration.

Scanning of emails is redundant. Your resident Anti Virus will still catch the nasties that want to get in .
