Emails Stuck in Outbox

I'm having a problem with my emails getting stuck in my outbox. I'm running
Outlook 2003, and can receive emails, but cannot send them. After reading
through some of the threads here, I uninstalled Norton, but that hasn't
helped. The emails I'm sending are usually replies, so I'm not having any
problems that can be fixed by altering the way I enter emails in to "To" or
"CC" field. I'm clicking on Send/Receive, and it's saying that 100% has
sent/received. However, when it works all the way, it will say "Send/Receive
Complete," which it is not currently saying. I'm not getting any kind of
error message.

Thanks in advance for your help, and please explain everything like you're
talking to an idiot...thank you!

It's not that I have a problem with the emails being in my outbox, it's that
they won't send. I can delete them easily enough and have done that several
times, but I still cannot send emails.

I just realized that I do occasionally get an error message telling me that
the operation timed out while waiting for the POP server. I've checked all of
the account information, and it's correct.

I'm connected to the internet, I'm not working offline in Outlook.

It won't let me copy and paste the actual message, so this is as close as I
can get:

Task 'pop-server.triad.rr.com' - Sending and Receiving reported error.
(0x80042109): Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) email
server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server
administrator or internet service provider.

And what did Road Runner say when you contacted them about the problem?

I haven't contacted them, is this a problem with Road Runner?

Perhaps and perhaps not, but you pay them to support you so that should be
your first place to stop when trying to solve mail problems involving server
connections.

I am having this problem too. My ISP says it is my problem, it is an Outlook
problem. This used to happen at work, the tech guy fixed in a second. No
such help today -- tried all the stuff here and no luck. Nothing in the
Outbox, but periodically Outlook says it is sending something. Any othr
ideas? Thx.

I was having this problem while working from home, but I am now back at work
and still having the problem. None of my co-workers is having this issue,
which leads me to believe that this is a problem with Outlook, and not with
Road Runner.

Kathleen,

We exporting emails out of Microsoft Dynamics GP with a PDF attachment. One
computer can send hundreds of these out repeatedly and never have an issue.
Another computer/user can only send a few out of Outlook before they get
stuck in Outlook. If they restart Outlook it will send three and then lock
up again. One difference that we have noted is that the computer that works
sends the emails through Outlook in fewer numbers at a time where the one
that locks up seems to send them all to the outbox at once. Do you have any
ideas?
