Emails I send are not opening correctly for others

I have VISTA, OFFICE 2007 and Outlook 2007.
I have gotten feedback from a number of people that my Outlook 2007 emails
sent are not opening as an html format.
I understand this as a problem for people with aol, BUT it has also happened
when I send an email to a computer that has VISTA and uses the Windows mail
program that comes with VISTA.
They don't get any attachments ie: pdf, doc, jpg files.
My emails open as plain text although I send them as html.
I've been told I'm the only sender to the "Windows Mail" recipient that
doesn't send the graphics properly!!
I don;'t know how I've set my mails that they don't get opend properly.
What can I do?
Thank you,
Marc

Sounds to me like you're sending your messages in Rich Test format. Use
Tools>Options>Mail Format to change your compose format to HTML or Plain
Text.

Thanks Brian,

I have been sending mail as 'html', but I use 'plain text' for aol users. My
wife receives 'html' graphics from other senders, I'm don't open for her? she
uses Windows Mail that came with VISTA on her new laptop. I use Outlook 2007.

Because you've set the default format to be HTML does not mean that you're
sending HTML. There is a per-contact setting that overrides the default
format. If your wife is a contact in your Contacts folder and that's what
you use to send the messages, open that record and double-click the e-mail
address. There should be an "Internet format" drop-down on the properties
page that opens. Make sure it says "Let Outlook decide the best sending
format"

Thank you Brian,

1] Can I make Let Oulook decide" the default setting?
2] I'm also having trouble with sending emails to aol address'.
Is there something to set for aol address'?

That should be the default setting, unless you import contacts. Then, I
think, "Rich Text" will be the default.

AOL is a different beast. While I can think of nothing you can set
specifically for AOL, my inclination is to always send plain text.
