Emailing Photos Problem

I hope someone can help with my XP problem.
I open my photos in XP and click on the one I want to
send, then click at the left "email this photo". The
little box pops up and I click on "make all photos
smaller for emailing". Well, sometimes it does, and
sometimes it don't! It's awfully frustrating. When it
does it correctly, the email will send pretty fast,
within 60 seconds. The sending bar will jump to about
95%, then it will take a little bit to get to 100%. More
and more often though, when I click send, it starts with
this 2%...3%...6%...and takes forever! I am still on
dial up and so are most of my friends, so have to have
small photos that will go and arrive quickly. This was
one of my favorite features of XP, and now it's stopped
working correctly.
I've looked all over microsoft site for an update or
patch, to no avail. I don't want to have to go back
to 'the old way' of sending photos...where I have to open
each in elements, small them down, save them...then go
back and send them...uuggh, not worth the time!!
Any comments, suggestions or ideas will be appreciated!

If the window does not open to make your pictures smaller, do the following:
Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in the textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press the Enter key.
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...

Dear Kim, have spent the past 8 months as a new user of xp trying to solve this prob with some different scenarios to yours as i am on xp pro, however it may be worth your while looking at your virus sca
