emailing my pictures, doesnt work right any more

i have a problem with sending my pictures to family. i
think a setting has been changed by the repair man when i
had other unrelated problems last week.
when i go to my pictures, it says 'email this picture'
which i click on, then it says 'make all my pictures
smaller', then, where my aol 'write email' box used to
pop up automatically with the picture attached, i get
nothing.
i have to revert to doing it another way by going through
aol 'write email' first, then adding them as
attachments. i would rather do it the other way but cant
find how to change the setting back to how it was. can
anyone help. also, my pictures are arriving at the other
end very large, which didnt happen before, and my family
are having trouble recieving them because they are so
big. any ideas?

Maybe the following info will be useful.

(BTW...when you simply add an image as an
attachment, the size is not being reduced...that's
why your family is complaining) To solve that
problem...read the end of this message...

1) Sign on to AOL

2) Click on the "Keyword" or "AOL Keyword"
button

3) A window will appear. Type in the word
Preferences and click on the Go button.

4) You will see another window appear
with a number of preferences that you
may set.

5) Click on the word Associations to
select AOL as your preferred application
for web browsing, email, and newsgroups.

6) Another window will appear asking you
to confirm your selection. Click on the OK
button.

=================

If you have....AOL9

1) Sign on to AOL

2) Click "Settings" on the tool bar

3) Click the "By Category" Tab

4) Click "Communications"

5) Click "AOL as Default"

6) Click OK

Resizing images for e-mail attachments.

I guess you're running WinXP or you wouldn't
be here...right?

OK, go to the following link and download and
install: ImageResizer.exe

http://tinyurl.com/36n

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

BTW...when resizing if you go to...Advanced
Button / Custom...and enter 640 in each field...
that will be a good size for e-mail purposes.
