email won't delete

I have received an email that won't delete. It hangs up Microsoft Outlook
each time I try to delete it. I've run Norton Virus Scan, tried to drag to
delete folder with the same result of hangup. How do I get rid of this file.
It came from my son, and he has had no trouble with the email opening or
deleting.
