Larger message stays in Outbox and resends and won't let me delete

I tried sending an email with a larger attachment (16.7 MB). It won't go
through and stays in my Outbox but it keeps trying to resend it. It was
going to 3 recipients and I have gotten at least 70 - 75 falure notices that
the email won't go through either because the receiving account is over quota
or the max size of the email is larger than what the receiving account will
accept.

That would be fine but it won't let me delete the email out of my Outbox and
instead keeps trying to resend, filling my inbox with these failure notices
and slowing down my entire computer.

I've tried deleting- I've tried moving to the draft folder- nothing is
working. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give.

File - Work offline.
Wait a minute.
Try to delete the message from the Outbox.

If it fails, File-Exit.
Wait a minute.
Restart Outlook and remain offline.
Try to delete message from the Outbox.

Also, I'd look at removing the email integration in whatever A/V software
you have installed, which tends to make this sort of problem happen.
