Email will not download to inbox

Recently Outlook refuses to receive email to the inbox
when certain messages are in the queue. My ISP
(Attglobal.net) says that certain characters in the
subject line or header of these messages will stop
Outlook from receiving any mail from the server. However,
outlook express will download these messages as will
Netscape. Outlook is required here and the others are not
integrated.

Therefore, what can be done to fix the problem?
