Email returned, not sent by me

I have had an email returned to me as "Mail Delivery
Failed". The return message said that my email had an
attachment that "has been used for viruses or other
malware".

I have sent no emails to the address where this was
rejected from. I must have something on my computer that
is sending emails that I am unaware of. My updated virus
scanner detects nothing on my computer. I don't
understand how this works.

Can anyone explain or suggest what I should do? I don't
want to be a conduit for viruses.

Thanks,
Sandi

You can't do anything about the problem. A spammer, slammer, or an
infected and ignorant user sent off an e-mail with you listed in the
From or Reply-To headers. If the malicious e-mail cannot be delivered,
an NDR (non-delivery report) e-mail gets sent back to the sender, and
since you were listed as the sender then it goes to you.

I neglected to mention that I am using Ms Outlook for the
account where this happened.

While I am pretty choked about someone using my address,
if the emails are not coming from my computer, I glad
about that, at least.
Thanks for the reply.
