email password

Recentlly I am asked for username and password when I try to access my email
account. On checking the account I find the password section empty. I have
completed the password, and ticked the box for save password. this works fine
for that session, but when I try to access my emails after logging out, the
problem appears again. I am using Windows Vista 32bit, and know that the
deatils input are correct. I have also deleted the account in windows mail,
and reinstalled it, but the problem still persists.

Any suggestions??

That symptom can be caused by interference from an antivirus
program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

As a possible temporary fix, delete that corrupted mail account,
restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, and recreating
the account, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it
is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus
programs: http://download.live.com/wlmail

.
Thanks very much for your reply.
For some unknown reason, when I tried to access email this morning, it again
asked for u/n & Pw, but, once inputted and after I went into my accts, and
verified the pwd there, it all worked as per normal, and is still (touch
wood) doing the same.
For info I am using Norton Internet Security. I hope it stays ok. In the
meantime, thanks again.

There is no doubt that this problem will return.
Norton security products are among the top three troublemakers for
Windows Mail. First, be sure to disable its email scanning, for the
reason explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

Also, since Norton corrupted that account, there may be no improvement
until you delete the account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

Disabling the Norton's email scanning is sometimes insufficient. If so,
do a trial uninstall, followed by using their debris removal tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly
intrusive antivirus products: http://download.live.com/wlmail
