Email Notification On Login Page

I have noticed that everytime I get a new email, it tells me how many unread
messeges I have on my login page [Under my username]. I do not wish for it
to tell me this information. I was hoping that someone would know how I can
get rid of this so that it does not list any unread messeges I may have in my
hotmail accounts.

Thank you.

TweakUI can reset the email count for on the Welcome Screen

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Within TweakUI go to "Repair" > in the drop down list select "Repair unread
mail count".

You could disable this feature as well through the registry.

Turn off Email Notification
Navigate to:
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your_email_address]]
Name: MessageCount
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: (0 = disable, 1 = enable)

Overview of the Mail Notification Display on the Windows XP Welcome Screen

Mail at the welcome screen.

The easiest way is to dowload TweakUI from Microsoft and
disable the notification in the Logon/Unread Mail section.

Download TweakUI
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you prefer not to use a downloaded program to do this then
you're going to have to edit the registry. Go to this web site
and scroll to the "Unread Mail..." section:

Good luck
