Email Keeps Disappearing

I receive email but once its read it seems to disappear. This started
happening about two days ago.
 
The same thing started with me tonight. Someone please help, what I lost was
pretty important to me. Don't want to lose anymore if it can be prevented.
 
Does it help to click on the folder the mail was in, then View, then Current
View, then Show All Messages?
