Email in Outlook Express

After installing the SP2 upgrade all of my old email messages disappeared and
I am no longer able to either send or receive new messages. Any idea what
may have happened and whether or not I can get the messages back?
 
System Restore to before you installed SP2 & thoroughly clean your OS before
trying again.
