Email header confusion

Kay

Wow! This is a new one!

May 21, to rid my Inbox of an email that wouldn't delete, I followed these
instructions:

Close Windows Mail
Click Start > Search > Advanced Search
Location = Everywhere
Place a check in "Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files"
Name = (type) WindowsMail.MSMessageStore

When completed, you should only see 2 instances
Highlight, right-click and select: Delete
Ok any prompts, close Search and restart WinMail

Since then there has been quirky little things happening with Windows Mail,
like one of my folders that contained a great deal of information, that
folder is now completely empty.

Today the wierdest thing of all happened! I have now received two email with
the header from one person and that email when opened shows an old email
from an entirely different person.

A few moments ago I received a newsletter from a website I've been receiving
email from for a very long time. Again, the header was one thing and the
body of the email was from an email I received earlier in the week.

What is that??

I can't figure this one out!

There have been scattered reports of odd Windows Mail behavior after
deleting both copies of the WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file.

It may be cleaner to delete the entire Windows Mail directory, after
saving a copy elsewhere, then re-importing messages from the saved store.

In either case, drastic measures like this should be a last resort.
To me, one stuck message in the inbox doesn't justify major 'surgery'.
