I am currently using OE as my email client. I recently
switched to Outlook because my Palm Pilot was not
compatible with XP.

I've tried everything I can see or thing of to get my
email to go to Outlook, so I can get rid of OE, but have
had no luck.

Please help.

Thanks

Would help if you told us more info. Version of Outlook? Did you export from
OE to Outlook after setting up your mail account(s) in Outlook?

You can't really "get rid of" OE - but you can delete the mail account in it
once you've fully migrated.

I am currently using windows XP. At the time I bought the
new computer, I was using OE as email client.

After purchasing computer I found out it was not
compatible with my Palm Pilot and I bought Microsoft
Outlook 2003.

Now, try as I might I cannot get my email into Outlook.
I have said it should be my default and such, but nothing
seems to work. I was able to transfer address book from
OE to Outlook 2003. I can also, send mail from Outlook
2003 and so on, but cannot get email there.

Thanks

1. Go into OE and get the mail account config data (smtp server, pop
server, id's, passwords, etc.). Or get same info from your email
service provider. Close OE.
2. Launch Outlook. Enter this mail account data into a new account
into Outlook. "Help" describes in detail how to setup an email account.
Your email service provider should also have this same info available
specific to Outlook.
3. After correct configuration, "send/receive" to send and receive
email with this account.
4. If after this, you still "cannot get mail into Outlook", report back
here with the EXACT error message. Just the assertion that you cannnot
get mail into Outlook is not good enough.

Re the Palm. The assertion that your palms is not compatible with XP is
probably wrong. I use my Palm Vx (quite hold from about 1998 as I
recall) quite successfully. If your machine is old, then maybe...My
first Palm, a Palm III died before XP existed, so I don't know. Maybe
you don't have the lastest desktop software. Go to Palm's web site and
download the latest. Install exactly as per the instructions they provide.

Re getting rid of OE after getting Outlook going ... you can't. It's
part of the Operating system. You can hide it or you can ignore it. I
suggest you simply ignore it.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
