where is the directory containing email in XP.

You will find that this is a hidden folder so you will need to 'unhide' it.

where is the directory containing email in XP.

If you are asking about Outlook Express, go to Tools | Options | Maintenance
| Store Folder and OE will tell you where the files are.
In order to see the files you will have to set Windows Explorer to show
hidden files and folders.
