Just ignore the arrogant f***wits. If the question had been "How do I access my
<insert 'real' ISP here> account, you would have gotten a civil and helpful
answer. Just get on your friends PC, go to www.aol.com in his browser, and
follow the links to log in to your AOL email account.

I repeat, what has a question about AOL got to do with WINDOWS? WINDOWS is
an OPERATING SYSTEM, not aol.

I would have responded in a similar manner as Gordon.
Asking questions about AOL on this forum is not the proper
place.
This is for Windows XP, not for AOL.
Take your question to the proper forum.

Thank you so much for sharing that wonderful bit of wisdom with those of us who
just can't figure out these damn PC thingys. I would ask again, what would
your response have been if some newbie had asked how to access, for example,
his Earthlink account from a friend's PC? If you can look in the mirror and
honestly say that you would have responded identically as you did to the AOLer,
then I have no problem with your response. If not GFY.

Have a nice day,
John

Exactly the same - contact Earthlink in the first instance. Most good ISPs
have web mail these days........

First thing to do would be to DROP AOL as soon as you can. AOL software is
mostly malware , overpriced, under supported, and will INFECT YOUR COMPUTER
REGISTRY with many entries that can only be removed manually.
If yo don't believe this. try uninstalling it and then search for AOL
entries in the registry. They will still be ther.

GFY, you arrogant f***wit. It's none of your God Damn business what software he
uses. If you don't care to help, STFD and STFU.

Cheers,
