I wanna go back to DOS

Primary question is about the multi-boot options when I turn on the machine.
I recently re-installed Win XP and no when I boot I have the choice of Win
XP, Win XP and Win me. How do I get rid of the other options?

Today has been a strange day, I rebooted and it would only come to black
screen. Tried safe mode and I got a black screen with "safe mode" on it.
Booted from the CD-RoM to repair and that didn't work because I'd get to the
point that I had to select my OS and it would just go back to a command line
prompt. THEN my one CD-ROM drive just stopped working. Wouldn't be
recognized, wouldn't even open when I pushed the button.

Finally re-installed windows and I discover that my non functioning CD-ROM
drive is now working.

That's just venting. My real issue is at the the top.

Edit the BOOT.INI.
