I upgraded a friends PC from Win98 to Win2K. I selected
clean install, but both OS'es were shown when booting the
PC. I then did another clean install, but now get the
prompt of which Win2K to boot from. How does one set the
system up so it just automatically boots from a single
system? Do I need to reformat and re-install everything?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The list of operating systems is stored in the file C:\BOOT.INI

Be VERY CAREFUL when changing this file, a mistake could prevent the system
from booting.

HOW TO: Edit the Boot.ini File in Windows 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=311578

Boot into the OS go to
Control Panel
System
Advanced tab
Startup and Recovery and select a default OS and set the wait time to 0.

No, there is a switch to skip the choice screen.
See the reference given earlier.
