edit website live

I've only ever used FP. A friend asked me to make some minor changes to her
non FP website. I created and uploaded some basic pages (no FP features)
via FTP. She'd like me to edit links on existing pages to reflect the new
pages. Is there some way to do this without having to recreate all the
pages through FP? It's a matter of adding one word into 2 links on each
page. I edited one and ended up having to save the entire thing to my drive
then upload it again. Seems I should be able to connect via FTP to each
page, make the quick edit, and leave again. But I can't seem to figure out
how to make that happen. Her server doesn't have FP extensions installed,
and for these minor changes, I wouldn't think that was necessary. Any tips
welcome!

The only way to edit live is with Extensions.

With FTP, you will be forced to download , edit and then upload each page.
