Easy share

I have a Kodak easy share and when I install the software all my photoes go
to easy share program. I would rather work with the pictures in my pictures
but I don't know how to get them there and also I don't want a bunch of
pictures in different programs on my computer. Also how do I delete all these
pics off easy share when I am done? Do I have to do them one at a time? I
like to keep my computer as clean of extra things as possible so it doesn't
slow down.

I don't know anything about Easy Share, so I can't help with this.
After you download the pictures from your camera to your hard drive, and
then you make sure that they are really on your hard drive and you can open
them fine you then you copy them to a CD-R (or anything else like a DVD-R or
an external drive) to make sure you have a backup. Then it is time to delete
the photos from your memory card on your camera.
To delete all the photos on your memory card in your camera, the usual way
is to FORMAT the card. This will erase all the photos and prepare the card
for new photos. Usually, FORMAT is found in the menu of a camera under FILE
in a camera. But I don't know Kodak cameras, so if it is not there, look in
the index of your Kodak manual, see if you have an item FORMAT, or how to
delete all the photos.

Are you using the Camera Dock or just plugged into a USB port?

If using the Camera Dock, unplug the USB cable and plug it into your Camera
directly.

Your Camera now becomes a Hard Drive and you can copy the pictures from there
to anywhere you wish.

Keep ES turned off.

Alternative........remove ES from your Computer.

When you plug your Camera into a USB port it will be seen by Windows as a
"Camera" under My Computer>Scanners and Cameras.

Downloading pictures will then be your choice of direction and can be directly
imported to an application like Digital Image Pro Library or Windows Picture
Manager.

One downside to removing ES is that Windows sees it as a Camera and not a
Drive or Device with Removable Storage.

In this state, you cannot upload pictures back to the Camera if you wished to
do so.

For now, I would suggest you go with the first scenario.

An update to Yves' advice.

DO NOT Format the Internal memory card on the camera. You will lose all your
presets and personal configurations.

Safe to Format the External card but easiest method is to
just use the "delete" button on the camera.

When in review mode, hit the button and you will get a message on the LCD
asking if you want to delete all or just the reviwed one.

I have a Kodak DX6440 and have found out a few tricks. Most are in your
manual but some you find through experimentation(read "screw up").

Yes I have been using the dock to download. Your suggestion makes sense. My
question about removing pictures were ment to remove off computer program
once I put onto a cd. I know howto remove from the camera. I sometimes have
150/200 on a program and it takes forever to remove one at a time. How can I
remove more or all at once?

Generally you go into Windows Explorer to the folder from which you wish to
remove pictures.

Then Edit>Select All and then right-click and Delete.

To select certain ones, use CTRL + Click to select non-contiguous files.

SHIFT + Click to select groups of files.
