Easy fax question

I installed the fax component for Windows XP but after
the Wizard instructs me to enter the phone number to fax
to - nothing happens. My dial-up modem is working b/c I
can sign on to AOL. It appears that the computer through
the fax application does not acknowledge the modem...

Any suggestions for remedying the problem.

Have you verified that your modem is on the HCL? Unfortunately, there are
problems with modems that aren't on the list.
