Don Ducharme

I don't know if this is where I should post this, but I
am running Microsoft XP. On average I am receiving 100
to 150 bogus Microsoft e-mails telling me to run the
attached files. How can I stop this? I'm getting ready
to go back to my old system if this keeps up. Thanks.
Don

Don,

These emails are not from Microsoft and have nothing to do with XP. They
are a part of a world-wide email virus outbreak which started up around Sept
18 or 19. You are receiving these emails because your email address was
found on one or more computers which have become infected with the virus.
Unfortunately, it now appears that email addresses are being "harvested"
from newsgroups, so I'd advise you to use something other than your true
email addy when posting to any newsgroup.

Of course, do NOT open any of the attachments to these emails, as they are
virus-infected - and delete the emails
