Greetings Charlie,
You're seeing this because you've saved your .NET Passport in your Windows XP account, and
Windows Messenger (or MSN Messenger) is signing you in. You can either remove your saved
..NET Passport, stop Messenger from signing you in, or simply verify your e-mail address. To
remove your saved .NET Passport, click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then,
click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on the left side
of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that
opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click 'Remove'.
To stop Messenger from signing you in, simply open up the main Messenger window, click the
Tools menu, then Options, then Preferences tab (or General tab depending on version), uncheck
'Run this program when Windows starts', 'Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts' or
'Automatically run Messenger when I log on to Windows' (depending on version) and then click
OK. Then right-click the Messenger icon in the notification area/system tray (by the clock),
and click Exit.
Finally, if you just want to verify your e-mail address, just visit
http://register.passport.net/contactus.srf and request another verification e-mail from
Passport Services.
