E-mail url link will not open

1. I had internet connection problems.
2. During troubleshooting I removed downloads like Mozilla Firefox that my
son had added. Come to find out my connection had nothing to do with his
stuff. I could open my email links fine before my internet problems, however
once I got my internet back due to replacing filters I could not open my
email url links anymore.
3. My email and server provider said it was something in my system not their
email settings.
4. I use outlook express.
5. I tried to restore to a date when I knew I could open email with no luck
my computer will not restore to any date I select.
6. This is a business situation and I cannot open links. HELP!!!!
7. Does anyone know what to do?
8. Why could I open links before and now I can't?

Get hyperlinks in OE to open IE:
http://www.oehelp.com/ielnk.aspx

Fix File Associations.

And just in case:

Send To Mail Recipient option does nothing

1. You click on a link and an IE window doesn't even open:

2. You click on a link and an IE window opens but it doesn't load: Try the
following fix by MVP Kai Schaetzl =>

Also see http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/26.html

3. Installing the latest Cumulative Patch for IE may solve the problem as a
side-affect. Check in at Windows Update.
