Hello,

I have a strange problem.
I have an own webaccount since I have my own website. I have the email
account from this website in my windows mail.
Last week when I tried to email to some friends who have a hotmail (or
msn.com or live.nl) account I got a bounce saying my email could not be
deliverd etc.
I since filled in a form (safe list form, which the hotmail help recommended)
And appertenly some of my mail I send after that got through.
But when I want to send an email to my own hotmail account, it never is
received (nor in the junkmail folder)
When I send an email to my website-email out of my hotmail-account, it gets
deliverd, and when I reply to this hotmail-email it is deliverd into hotmail.
But when again I try to make a new email out of my website-account and mail
it to hotmail it never shows up anywhere...
what can this be...

thanks for helping me
Dennis

That is not a Windows Mail problem. It sounds like a problem with
the Hotmail server which for some reason does not like your web host
mailserver. This is not the right forum (newsgroup) for discussing
Hotmail issues. If you want to pursue the Hotmail aspect of this:
Via your news reader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.msn.discussion

On the web:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...aspx?dg=microsoft.public.msn.discussion&exp=1

I would simply resolve the problem by replacing the web host
SMTP server with your ISP's SMTP server. Your correspondents
will never notice the difference.

Thanks for the response.
But how do I replace that ISP's SMTP server. I have no idea what a ISP is.
sorry.

ISP = Internet Service Provider
They are the ones who will have to tell you what the SMTP server name is.

As Frank already responded, your ISP is the outfit that provides your
connection to the Internet. If you tell us who that is, I can give you
more specific advice.

If the bounce from the postmaster resembles this:

Connected to 65.54 244 200 but sender was
rejected remote host said 550mail rejected windows live hotmail for policy
reasons. A block has been placed against your IP address because we have
received complaints concerning mail from that address. We recommend
enrolling in our junk e-mail report program intended to help senders remove
unwanted recipients from their e-mail list.

This happened to me as a Cox user and recently someone using Skype posted
the same message. Both of us using OE. This was my reply, and may be what
the OP is experiencing.

<QP>
FWIW, I use Cox Communications. About two weeks ago, anyone I sent mail to
that used Windows Live Hotmail did not get it and I received the same
postmaster message that you do. Thinking that I was being blocked as a
spammer, I called Cox and found out that WLH had blocked anything coming
from Cox. They said they were working on it with WLH and it would be fixed,
but it would probably take a few days, which it did. It works now.
</QP>

If this is the issue, it is a Windows Live Hotmail problem blocking the OP's
ISP.
