The download runs ok, but an error comes up saying it
won't install, and the history log says failed. The
instructions say to try again. In doing so the same error
appears. Suggestions? I'm on XP SP1. My antivirus says
everything's ok. Thx.

Have a look in the Windows Update.log file - which can be found in the Windows folder - for any error numbers - towards the end of the file. If you find any, see if they are referenced here:
