I went to install Dungeon Lords game and it locked up. Now all it will
recognizes is DVDs and not CDs. The game was on CD. I have been unable to
find an answer to fix this, any help will be appreciated.

The DVD side and CD side use different lasers so it would appear the CD
laser in your optical drive has died. Time for a replacement.

If it won't play any CD, then the most likely cause is hardware failure of
the drive. In such a case as yours, the probably hardware failure is the
laser which reads CDs.
A different one reads DVDs; hence a drive may be able to read one format but
not the other. A failure of the laser would certainly cause problems with
playing your game.

First of all, you should try one of the laser cleaning disks because
sometimes the laser lens gets dirty.

If that doesn't work, your best bet is to replace the drive.
