dvd's not playing

I crashed xp home (was able to play dvds) Now running xp pro but dvds aren't
playing. I'm getting different error messages depending on what program I try
to play them with.
WMP "problem comfinguring copyright..."
Interactual "dvd navigator not detected"
windvd6 "create overlay failed"
I'm able to play music cd's from that drive, just not dvds.
