DVD WRiter/CD Drive

My DVD drive won't burn dvds at all and won't read some dvds either! Its relly annoying. Herea a bit of technical informatin:
NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A
Someone please help me and thanks a lot in advance

Which program are you using to burn DVD? What error messages do you get?

Just to be quite sure of the obvious point: You *are* using DVD+R or
DVD+RW disks and not DVD-R DVD-RW ones?
