Help me please!!! My dvd+rw does not read cd's or cd+r. Every once and a
while it will read normal progarm cd's like games and other stuff. It doesn't
read burned cd's at all, but will open DVD movies and DVD data disc that I
have made in the past everytime. Do I need to buy a new drive? Can I do
someing in Windows XP Home Edition to fix this. Thankz.

Xp normally doesn't need any additional drivers for plug and play optical
drives..

Have you updated Nero..? Did you set Nero to CD mode? Setup the drive in the
recorder tab, might be set to the virtual recorder..?

Have you ever used the Nero Infotool to save a txt file..? You can paste
info to your post from the txt file that may help to id problems too..

The drive is showing up on the web as a Samaung drive and there appear to be
two firmware updates for that model.. What is your current firmware version
for the Samsung TS-H552B ..? If you decide to go that route, heed all
warnings, follow all instructions and use caution, a bad flash can damage the
drive for good and void any warranty.. You may be able to re-flash the drive
to a previous version and recover if using the Samsung Liveupdate software..
