In the past, when I went to my hardware profile, I could see beside the
normal tabs like Volume, Driver,Region, Details, another tab called Settings.
I don't see this tab anymore.
My problem is that my drive although it is a double layer write drive, does
not recognize an empty double layer disc. When i check it in the explorer it
says insert medium. Is this issue familiar to anybody, and is there a
solution for it? Thanks in advance.
I'm the only one using this computer so I'm also logged in as administrator.
I'm using XPhome, SP2, Ie7

Hello,

You have to use special software to write ('record') data to the disc.
Explorer does not have the ability to write to DVD media - but it can read
them if they have data inside.

Some examples of CD/DVD writing software are Roxio, Ahead Nero, etc that
should have come with your computer/burner.
