dvd-rom problem

At my device manager my dvd rom is highlighted and the device status says:
windows cannot load the device for this hardware. The device may be corrupted
or missing(Code 39)
Also at my computer where my devices are pictured my dvd rom is not there,
just the floppy drive. I was exchanging my cd-rom and may have deleted
something by mistake.

I have the software for my dvd-rom but I can not run the software until this
problem is resolved.

Can someone help me with this situation? Thank You
