DVD Rom Drive

I have a lite-on dvd-rom drive. I've been having problems with it
recognizing disks. Specifically ones that I've burned myself. I went into
the hardware manager and checked the properties. I noticed that the region
code had been reset several times so I only had one reset left. Then another
time I noticed that the number left was 4, which is what it should be. Has
anyone else noticed this problem? I'm thinking it has something to do with
the firmware update I applied recently, but I'm not sure how to check to see
if it is.

I have one of those cunting drives, lite-on's. The only problem I have with
the one I have, it will not burn good DVD's in Ultra DMA mode. It'll make
coasters every time. Just make sure you've flashed it with the correct
firmware and disable UDMA and see how things go.

That doesn't mean by disabling UDMA that it's going to read the DVD's that's
already ****ed up.

Lite-0n used to have a reputation for excellent drives at great
prices.

Yes, thats why i bought it.
But,I think what they do is rebadge other makers drives and
sell them under thei name.

The cunts seem to have wound up with a contract to sell to Wal-mart. With
Wal-marts plan of "Always Low Prices", you know the quality will probably
have to go down to meet that requirement.
