I have a DVD burner that is compatible -r, -rw, +r, +rw. Since + are
generally more compatible I always use +

I have two friends that when they burn -R, I can not read them, but when
they burn +R, I can.

Ideas why?

tks,
paul

that was a waste, but thanks anyway. I read the page and installed the app.
When selecting the drive, it says please install a disk, just like xp says.
In other words this"buster" does not see it either, it is as blind as xp. I
know when i say xp, I really means my burner/reader apps.

hmmm. After I sent this, I took a shower, then I noticed that the buster was
still opened, so I looked in config options, I changed the temp directory,
then again tried to view the dvd-r and it worked.

No problem, I suspect they're burning their DVDs with the same brand of
software? I'd look into that and see if they burned with something else what
the results would be.
