Check your media (disks
are you using "+" or "-" or DvD RAM (4.7Gig), R or R
careful playing with disk regions,, most drives only
allow you to change a certain ammount of times
Hey all...I am having some problems with my DVD
drive....I have tried a few programs ASUS DVD, WMP and
Power DVD....but no matter what I do I cant get it to
recognise the DVD I am trying to play...it just says "no
disc in drive"..Is there anything I can check to solve
the problem? the drive plays CDs perfectly. Do I need
to change the disk region or something somewhere

What version of PowerDVD did you use? If the video is stored in .vob files
on the DVD, the latest version should be able to play the vob's by
themselves.

In explorer, right click on the DVD, & select Open. If you see any files
with the .vob file extension, like VTS_01_1.VOB, right click on the file,
and select Play in PowerDVD.

If you have no .vob files listed then what type of files do you see listed?
