Hi I am having no luck using Window Visa DVD Maker. It seems to hang at 46.5%.

See steps below

1. Created a movie project called “2007 Jan California Trip.MSWMM†using
Windows Vista Movie Maker.
2. Click Publish to DVD
3. The burning process began successfully
4. At 46.5% it said with an error message, cannot process
5. Finish
6. I then read some forums and uninstalled Nero7
7. Restart computer
8. Open up Movie Maker
9. De-select from Codecs from the list. In fact all except the 2 that comes
as default - AVerMdia UYVY Col.... Version 1.0.0.3 AVI Decompressor Version
6.6.6000.16....

10. Save Movie Maker project file
11. Click Publish to DVD
12. The burning process began successfully
13. At 46.5%, there is no movement and the program appears stuck.

Please Help me as there is no error message or log file which I can check?

Try burning at a slower speed. 8X or slower should work ok.

Hi Frank,

The first time I tried on the fastest speed, then the second time on medium.
Is there some way to logically debug this? My machine has decent spec (Core
2 Duo T7200 2GHz with 2GB ram) but notice its still struggling with the
process.

Thanks

I also tried publishing to computer but that also failed, but not sure at
what % as it just cannot complete process. It then gave a very general
message why it may have failed, location to publish was not there, or no disk
space available, or orignal files may have moved. Is there any way to get
more details or debug this? Or is it purely the size of the project? Mines
is around 1hr and 37 mins with lots of little clips, transitions, music and
photos combined.

Thanks

What media are you using? Sometimes generic brand media will cause issues
with burning. I had the same problem and when I tried TDK media, everything
worked like a charm.
