DVD Drive

I running WindowsXP and have a Pioneer DVD Drive. This will play CDs,
DVDs and read data disks. However, when I try to write to disk it says
'Drive not accessible. Incorrect function' This a new drive, bought because
I was getting same problem with the old drive - and Optiarc.
Device manager properties says this drive is functioning correctly!
Any help will be much appreciated.

Many thanks! Half way there - the drive is now recognised and the items are
ready to be burned to CD. However, I am still getting 'There is no disk in
drive D' and, whatever kind of disk I insert, it is still not recognised!
