my dvd drive decided to stop detecting my dvd's yesterday
for some reason. It detects normal cd rom disks but not
dvd's. in case you dont know what i mean by detect, if i
put a dvd in the dvd drive, it would attempt to read it
then nothing. if i go to "my computer" and double click
on the dvd drive, it says "please insert disk" even
though there is a dvd in there. i am using hitachi dvd-
rom GD-7500. does any body know what i should do?

Hi Garrett,

First suggestion is to try a lens cleaning disk. Any commercial one will do,
they are usually only a few bucks.
