DVD Drive Not working

I upgraded my operating system from Windows 98 to Windows
XP and my DVD drive doesn't work. It won't read anything
I put in the drive? Anyone know how to fix this problem?

1. Open XP's "Help and Support"
2. Type DVD in the search box, hit enter.
3. Click on "DVD Troubleshooter".
4. You probably need a new DVD decoder.
