DVD digital copyright protection error

I try to play DVD's but the same error message comes
up: "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a
problem occurred with digital copyright protection." The
strange thing is that all of my DVD's that are labelled
Region ALL will play perfectly, but any DVD that is
strictly labelled Region 1 will not play. I checked and
my DVD player is set to Region 1 so I do not know what is
wrong. I also downloaded a DVD decoder program Sonic
CinePlayer, but that still did not fix the problem.

Get used to it! With Ditigal Rights Management technology controlled by
Microsoft, you only have the "Rights" that MS will allow you to have.

Kurt is correct. Microsoft is playing "Big Brother" here. Anyway,
go to the URL below and download this program which will allow you to
rip your DVD and remove the region 1 copy protection. Since you own
the DVD you are perfectly within your rights to do so.
