DVD Decoder

Hi there,

Pavilion ze5400 laptop. Cannot play DVDs. Message reads
"Your machines does not have a DVD Decoder".

What to do?

You need a software DVD player. Usually systems that come with DVD hardware
players have some such application either installed or at least included for
installation later. Check your documentation or with HP to see if they
included such a player. It's often a part of driver and software package
for your graphics card though not always pre-installed.

You could try to install software like PowerDVD or any
software that could play DVD.
