OT: Netbooks and dvd playback

Filled up the hard drive with dvds. Loaded the dvd decoder and windows
media player tells me it can't play it as I need to change display size
and color level. Thanks Microsoft.

It has the Intel Atom 1.6Ghz processor and 2Ghz of RAM.

Does a netbook as a rule have enought horsepower to run a dvd
decoder(player)? Was thinking of Roxio's Sonic Player. I have previous
version on an XP box, but it doesn't work with 7.

Thanks

Took longer to write than to find VLC media player. The netbook works
fine. Come to find out this is a Microshaft issue with Win 7 Stater
edition. Just want you to upgrade.

Hope this helps somebody.

Nothing to do with Microsoft...

And? You'd need to do the same with XP.
