DVD decoder not on system. Need source.

1st time use for a newsgroup!
Attempting to play DVD unsuccessfully after change in OS
from millenium to 2000. System says I need a decoder but I
am unsure source to download.

Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Mark,

W2000 itself does not contain DVD decoder. You either have
to buy a hardware one (expensive), a software one (usually
bundled with players such a platinumDVD, powerDVD etc. The
least expensive option (because it is free!) is to
download freeware DVD player such as one from
www.VideoLan.org.
