I'm trying to play a DVD on my office 2000 laptop. The error message states
that there is no DVD decoder software loaded on my system.

Office 2000 is an Office productivity suite, not an operating system. Check
what kind of OS you are running, presumably some version of Windows, then
repost your problem in a news group devoted to your OS. You will probably get
a better response. This news group is devoted to MS Access, the database
product.

You need a program that has the correct codec. Windows XP or MS Office
does not give this. You need a program like PowerDVD. If you have a dvd
burner or dvd-rom on your computer it should have came with a program to
play the dvd movie disk. Look on your the cd that came with your DVD drive.

You need a program like PowerDVD. It will give you the correct codec
file. Your dvd drive should have come with this type of software.
