Should XP have a DVD code in it? I have an older computer and installed XP
but can not get the DVD player to work. I have tried different DVD players
but they are all looking for the code. I do have another computer with XP.
Could I get a copy of the code there and put it into the older PC? Does
anyone know what I should be looking for?
Thanks

Exactly what "code" is it looking for?
Please provide any messages exactly as they are shown, XP version, PC make/model, DVD
make/model, etc.

I would guess it would be the MPEG2 code?

I would guess you need to use K-Lite Codec Pack "Full" to get the
codec you need.

Great, that did the trick! My boys will be happy now. I was given a computer
and I'm just using it sonly for my little boys. They want to use "Dads"
computer but I have to much stuff that I didn't want them to touch.

Thanks!!

XP came out on the market before DVD player drives became popular.
Microsoft did not put the "code" into XP to write to most DVD medias
(DVD Ram is supported?) and did not include any codec (decorder for
DVD medias.)
