dvd/cd cannot open data/sofware disks yet plays dvd's & audio

I lost my dvd drive in a bad uninstall with roxio. I was able to recover the
drive using a microsoft fix to clean a registry. I can see the drive. I can
play dvd's and audio disks. However when a software/data disk disk is
inserted it displays the disk name, with content showing as 0.(will not
open, and/or load software).

Thanks. I was able to get rid of all the roxio stuff. I can read vide,
audio, however now when i insert a data disk..autoplay starts...i can see it
flip through all my files...then opens the window asking for direction. I
hit "open files"....nothing happens.
