have two dvd burners installed in my computer, one that burns at 8
and one at 16x. I burned about 150 dvd's, then did not use it fo
about two months. I came back a few days ago and starting burnin
again, and now one burns at 2x and the other at 1x. I am using dv
Shrink, and I hvae tried reinstalling the firmware, but it does no
do anything. I have done nothing to the computer, what can I do t
fix this?

I am using the same 16x media I always use. I ran spybot and adware
nothing. I did a system restore from October, nothing. THANK

I am running in DMA mode, checked all that as well

Check for dust build up in your burner. A dust wad or ball can really slow
things down.

Did you install any games that have Starforce copy protection?
