DVD after SP2

I have a Sony DVD RW DW-U14A that was writing DVD-R and CD-R without problem
before SP2. Since installing I am still able to write CD-R but when trying
to write TDK 2X DVD-R (from the same box) it fails with a message saying
that feature is not supported. I am currently using the latest version of
Nero on their website. The Nero drive information program says the drive
supports DVD-R but it won't burn it.

Now the only thing that I can find odd is if I insert a blank CD in the
drive the default window that pops up and wants to burn the disk is from
Roxio but I don't have the Roxio easy creator installed. Is the Roxio
driver installed by default in WinXP? Is there a way to remove it so Nero
can control the drive? I looked on the Roxio website and all the help stuff
is about the easy creator which is not on my system.

I tried talking to Sony but they say the drive is OEM so they don't support
it. I also tried the place where I purchased it and they say the default
Windows driver should work.

Any other suggestion?

Regards,
John

Run:
ftp://ftp9.nero.com/attach/cleanpack.zip
ftp://ftp9.nero.com/attach/Nero-CleanTool.zip
Then reinstall Nero.

What version of Nero are you running? I believe the newest 6.3.1.20 is
required if using SP 2.

FWIW I'm using Nero 5.5.10.15 on XP Pro SP2 to burn DVD +R without problems.

I am using 6.3.1.25, as I said it's the latest version on their website.

Did not help. I also tried some Memorex DVD+R disks but it still says they
